14 July 2006 - Series 2, Episode 5 Review

A cliffhanger ending that will give predictable results. It's likely that Saint and Kim will get back together, although while Kim had her suspicions, Saint must never thought Kim would have done what she did. I also think the truth Saint calling the ambulance will come clean, and they'll both have a heart to heart! It's mid-way through the series, about time Kim gets involved with drugs!

Watching Stella and Nathan 'swing' was great - I have to say that Richard Lumsden plays Nathan really well, and that Nathan's nerves were nothing sort of what should be expected! It was also nice to see a bit more of Matt!

Prediction: Kim and Saint to get back together, and for a lot of suspicion to cloud the relationship.

14 July 2006 - Series 2, Episode 4 Review

It seems like episode 4 left more questions asked than answered. Kim, although Sugar lied about Saint, has proved that three can be a very annoying crowd, Kim still showed resounding faith to her friend, and still did not want her to leave. Another uncertainty will be Sugar's reaction - will she want to stay, or has she finally had enough?

Another stumbling block in Kim and Saint's relationship is the issue of trust. When Kim believed Sugar, Saint was clearly wondering why she was involved with Kim, and who can blame her? It seems as if Kim and Sugar will always be, at the very least, good friends.

And a point about Stella and Nathan - if Nathan is prepared to start 'swinging' to spice up his marriage, what else would he be prepared to do?!!

5 July 2006 - Actor profiles completed

I have finally done the profiles of the leading characters from the show! Seeing as no one else wanted to, I looked on the internet for info, and there wasn't a great deal to be found! However, from what I could find, I have got info on Olivia Hallinan (Kim), Lenora Crichlow (Sugar), Sara Stewart (Stella), Richard Lumsden, (Nathan), and Sarah-Jane Potts (Saint).

Click here for the Actors page...

1 July 2006 - Series 2, Episode 3 Review

Series two - it's getting better isn't it! Before Thursday's programme started, I looked at the episode guides for episodes 3 and 4, and I knew ep 3 would be good, leading to an even better ep 4. I am one of those people who goes at C4 pace, so I very much doubt I'm going to be proved wrong next week! Sugar's reaction to Kim not getting her from the YOI, let alone the probable friction between her and Saint, will be funny, but probably not as funny as the plots involving Matt, Stella and Nathan!

Anyway, looking forward to next week's episode, and post sensibly on the Channel 4 forum!!!!

Goodnight!

29 June 2006 - Olivia Hallinan  in the Daily Mail's 'Weekend' TV Guide

Well I say 'in' loosely, she was in the corner of the page where they always have a different feature - today was Olivia Hallinan, as 'the next big thing' - 'Weekend'  a different feature - today was Olivia Hallinan, as 'the next big thing' - 'Weekend' is the weekly TV guide in the Daily Mail on Saturdays.

If anyone has a digital camera better than mine, or preferably a scanner, feel free to scan the pic in for us all to see! (or you could e-mail me the pic and I'll do the rest!

Here is the transcript of the article:

23 June 2006 - Olivia Hallinan and Lenora Crichlow on VH1 last week

I caught the last bit of the girls' interview on VH1's Radio Ga Ga last week, if anyone has any idea as to how I could upload it to the internet via my Sky+ box, feel free to let me know via any of the available platforms on the messageboard.

I would appreciate a reply from anyone who knows their stuff so everyone can see the clip!

23 June 2006 - Series 2, Episode 2 Review

Two words could describe yesterday's episode - much better. I think that the series improved as we got deeper into the plot, and saw more of the characters (maybe because I watched episode 1 about an hour before Channel 4 showed episode 2!) As I said last week, Stella and Nathan were used as a source of light relief, 'Mr. Perky's back' undoubtbly one of the quotes of the series! I don't think Matt said a word, but they have probably stretched that character as much as they could in the first series! I also hope Sugar will be released soon (I don't always read spoiler postings on forums!), as her reaction to Kim's new life should be interesting, to say the least.

Anyway, stay well, don't go off topic on the Channel 4 forum, come back to this site, and come on England!!

20 June 2006 - Character Profiles Online

The character profiles are now online. Thanks to stevenE for Kim, Sugar, Stella, Nathan and Matt, and thanks to gorgonzola for Beth and Tom.

18 June 2006 - Series 2, Episode 1 Review

I felt episode 1 was missing something that gave series 1 its spark - probably the relationship between Kim and Sugar. Because Sugar was in a YOI (would she have been in there 18 months IRL?!?!), she was not as close to Kim, and Kim's new love life failed to make up for that - Kim going from one girl to another lost the continuity that series one had.

I can't really see where Stella and Nathan are going to go now, they will probably be used mostly for comedy lines, as we started to see on Thursday! The transformation of Matt must surely be the funniest - from a mensturating kid with a goldfish bowl on his head to a goth!!

Hopefully we will see more of the new characters, as they showed potential to be good - a confrontation with Sugar would be funny! Finally, it seems like Tom won't be in series two. He wa sa funny character, but probably past his sell-by date, however it seems like Kim has a new person with an obsession over her!

Anyway, hoping episode two will be better, and hopefully Sugar will be out soon!

16 June 2006 - Series 2, Episode 1 Review

I've been at school today so I will keep this brief and expand tomorrow. I personally thought yesterday's show was lacking the usual relationship from Kim and Sugar, and from what I saw yesterday Kim's new life didn't really make up for that. But I have confidence the series will improve, and hoping we won't all be thinking 'they should have left it after series one'.

Whether you think I'm either wrong or spot on, feel free to leave a comment on the messageboard - remember I am not aiming for it to replace the Channel 4 one!!

15 June 2006 - Series two starts today

So we've had rumours and facts, letters and complaints, after months of talk on forums and general wondering about how series one ended, the eagerly-anticipated second series of 'Sugar Rush' starts today. Of course the waiting of the last 9 months are small events in comparison to the trials and tribulations of Kim's life - exploring the clubs of Brighton, visiting Sugar in a Young Offenders' Institute, not to mention her parents walking in on her being spanked!

So it seems that the pinny had forgiven the whore, Nathan is being more spontaneouuuuuuuuuuuuus, and Stella is enjoying a rejuvenated marriage after moving back in. Matt has apparently turned goth, with even more crazy storylines!! Hopefully the goldfish bowl will stay!

New characters will be seen tonight as well - Saint, who is in Kim's class in the book, is likely to have been seen in the trailers, however no one is quite sure who she is! Hopefully these new characters will make up for the loss of Beth, last seen waiting for Kim on Brighton Pier.

Finally I'd like to make a point about Sugar in the YOI - if someone is trying to go too far against your will, would you really go to a YOI?? Not trying to get political though, I'm sure all will be explained tonight.

A final word, have a go at the Sugar Rush Quiz (just scroll down a bit!), if you want to get the top score then please do the quiz by tomorrow night - the winner will be announced on Saturday - you can e-mail/MSN etc your answers, or use the messageboard on this site.

And feel free to use the messageboard/guestbook here - it isn't trying to replace the C4 Drama forum, but the more people who use it the better :)
